Concrete Removal and Replacement
From the beginning, McFadden Construction has offered concrete maintenance and repairs. We have continually grown our company in the area of concrete removal and replacement. Concrete is an extremely durable construction material that will last for many years. However, concrete naturally deteriorates over time due to weather and other factors. As concrete ages, cracks and holes may form, allowing water to enter and cause extensive and costly damage to the underlying subgrade. Once moisture is in the subgrade, freeze/thaw, expansion/contraction, cracks, displacement of sections and failure of concrete begins to happen. Because concrete mix is a hard, rigid material, movement in the subgrade is going to try to move the material. This process eventually ends in random cracks. Expansion joints and control joints are prudently placed within the surface of concrete to force potential cracks to occur only in strategic places. If this is done correctly, a limited amount of random cracks should appear. However, if those joints are not filled with a crack filler, water will immediately begin penetrating through those joints and into the subgrade. Then the process of deterioration worsens. We would be happy to help you with your next project to ensure correct installation and maintenance.
